Affiliate Disclosure

The footer of every page on this site says it in one line: Play Dork Unit is an independent review site funded by affiliate commissions, and rankings reflect our testing, not commission size. This page is the long version of that sentence.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Plain-English summary: if you sign up at a casino through links on this site, the operator may pay us a referral commission, at no cost to you. Our four current partners are Gamdom, Stake, Roobet, and Rainbet. Their payments fund the site; they buy no influence over scores, rankings, or a single sentence of review copy.

The mechanics, step by step

Every casino button and link on Play Dork Unit points at an internal /go/ path first, for example /go/gamdom. That redirect sends you on to the operator carrying a tag that identifies this site as the referrer. If you then register and play, the operator's affiliate program credits us a commission, usually computed as a percentage of its long-term margin on players we referred.

Three consequences of that model, stated without varnish:

Our four partners, and how they got there

As of the date above, we hold affiliate relationships with exactly four operators: Gamdom, Stake, Roobet, and Rainbet, the same four casinos ranked on the best Dork Unit casinos page. The order of operations matters: each of those casinos first passed the seven-point test on our about page, with our own deposits, real Dork Unit sessions, and timed withdrawals, and the affiliate relationship came afterward. A casino that fails testing stays unlisted regardless of what its program offers, and no operator has ever entered our rankings because of a commission. Gamdom sits first because it scored highest in testing, not because of what it pays.

Where our content mentions a site or product we have no relationship with, including Hacksaw Gaming itself, that mention is unpaid and appears purely because the page would be incomplete without it.

Why the money cannot reach the rankings

Spotting a paid link at a glance

You never need to guess on this site. Monetized links have two fixed, machine-checkable traits: they route through a /go/ path, and they carry rel="sponsored" in the markup. Every affiliate call to action also sits next to a visible disclosure line on the page itself, before the click, which is what the FTC's endorsement guidance asks for: clear, conspicuous, and adjacent, not buried. Ordinary internal links and unpaid external links have none of those markers. The one-line footer disclosure repeats on every page, and this document is the full version all of those short notices point to.

Pages we keep commission-free

Some pages will never carry an affiliate call to action, as fixed policy: the responsible gambling page, this page, the privacy policy, and the terms of use. The free Dork Unit demo on our homepage works without registration and without clicking anything monetized; where a page around it references a partner brand, the standard disclosure line appears with it.

Questions about any commercial relationship go to [email protected]. If you find a spot anywhere on the site where a paid link lacks its disclosure, report it via the contact page; missing disclosures carry the same 48-hour fix commitment as factual errors.
